2023 Elections: I won't Exceed 2023- Muhammad Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said he looks forward to leaving his office at the expiration of his tenure in 2023. He said this on Thursday, February 24, during a courtesy visit to the palace of Sidi Bage Muhammad I, Emir of Lafia, in Nasarawa state. According to a statement by his spokesperson, Femi Adesina, the president said, “The traditional ruler is on a terminal appointment. Constitutionally, we (elected public office holders) are not. I cannot go beyond two terms and I have sworn by the Holy Quran that I will uphold the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.  Politics apart, whenever we are made to swear by the Holy Quran, we have to be very careful. We must make sure that we do not ab#se the trust God has given us as leaders. I have seen former governors here and I am looking forward to also becoming a former president.”

Zamfara Deputy Governor Impeached.

Zamfara Deputy Governor, Gusau impeached Zamfara State lawmakers on Wednesday impeached the Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Mahdi Gusau. Gusau was impeached during plenary after the House received the report of the committee. The committee was set up by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kulu Aliyu, to investigate the allegations against him. The lawmakers unanimously voted for Gusau’s impeachment after the report submitted by the judicial panel of investigation found him guilty of the allegations levelled against him. A total of 20 out of 24 members of the house voted for the impeachment. The report was read by the Speaker of the Assembly, Nasiru Muazu Magarya.

JAMB adds new University to list of available Universities.

 The joint administration matriculation board (JAMB) has added the two new University to the list of available Universities for application in the coming exams coming soon. The list of added Universities are; 1. The Lagos state University of Technology (LASUTECH) formerly known as Lagos state polytechnic of technology ( LASPOTECH) 2. Lagos State University of Education (LASUED). Which comprises of the Micheal Otedola College Of Primary Education (MOCPED), and  Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED). 

ASUU Strike: TASUED SUG President find it hard to know the meaning of ASUU.

 The Student Union Government (SUG) President, Tai Solorin University of Education (TASUED) find it hard to know the full meaning of ASUU. In a protest about the ASUU Strike he was asked by his fellow members to state the meaning of ASUU. Watch video below. 

Federal Ministry of Finance: No Fire Incident

According to the spreading news released on various social media blogs that the federal Ministry of Finance is on fire, the federal Ministry has released a note through their Facebook page stating tge cause of tge fire incident. They said;  The Federal Ministry of  Finance Headquarters is not on fire as reported on the social media. Rather there was an incident on the corridor in the basement involving an isolated battery Pack (Photo inset) and it was quickly put out by the security personnel on duty. ONDO Amotekun Intercepts 60 Northerners with motorcycles registered in Yoruba.

Ondo Amotekun Intercepts Truck Loaded With Over 60 Northerners, Motorcycles Registered With Yoruba Names   Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, has intercepted a truck with over 60 young men from northern Nigeria The truck, which was intercepted at Iju, in the Akure North Local Government Area of the state, was also loaded with rams and motorcycles, some of which were registered with Yoruba names. It was learnt that the 63 young men were coming from Gombe State and heading for Lagos. The men were subsequently taken to the headquarters of Amotekun in Akure, the state capital for profiling. According to the Commander of Amotekun Corps in the state, Adetunji Adeleye, his officers discovered that apart from about 240 rams that were in the truck, it also contained 63 persons, 10 motorcycles registered with Yoruba names and 15 unregistered ones.   Adeleye said the apprehended persons would be required to provide proof of ownership for the unregistered motorc

Alleged Illegal Professorship: Pantami reacts to ASUU’s verdict Nigeria’s minister of communications and digital economy, Isa Ibrahim, popularly known as Pantami, has reacted to the verdict passed by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on his appointment as a professor of Cybersecurity by the Federal University of Technology, Oweri (FUTO). EFCC Arrests Internet Fraudsters In Ilorin.

The Economic  And Finalcial Crime Commission,EFCC has revealed through it social handles how they were able to capture internet Fraudsters in Ilorin.  In a statement made by their Spokeperson he Said" EFCC Arrest Eight Internet Fraud Suspects in Ilorin The Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC, has arrested eight (8) persons over their alleged involvement in cyber-fraud, including cheating by personation and love scam. The suspects are Abdulrahman Ridwan, David Ayodeji, Gideon Thomas, Yinus Muiz, Yinus Lateef, Jimoh Ahmed, Lawal Farouk Opeyemi and Oladimeji Ridwan. They were arrested in Basin and Asa-Dam areas of Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital following credible intelligence about their alleged criminal activities. Items recovered from them include, exotic cars,mobile phones and laptop's." The Organization has vowed that they shall continue to put down the bad works of the internet Fraudsters.

NNPC TO SPEND 201 BILLION NAIRA ON FUEL PRODUCTION

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited may need an estimated N201bn worth of clean Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to bring 170.25 million litres of adulterated product imported the country up to standard, an analysis of industry data has shown. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority had said on Tuesday that for every 200 litres of the adulterated product, 800 litres of petrol with good quality would be required for the blending that would be done. “All the off-spec material (product) will re-blended to very good quality, and it will be certified and recertified before it goes into the market. The component that was in excess was methanol; what we agreed was that for every 200 litres of the affected volume, we need about 800 litres to blend,” the Chief Executive Officer, NMDPRA, Mr Farouk Ahmed, had said during a visit to some depots in Lagos on Wednesday after a meeting with industry stakeholders. NDLEA Intercepts drugs worth billions at the Lagos Port.

NDLEA intercepts N2billion worth of codeine in Lagos  Operatives of the National Dr#g Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted 40,250 kilograms of Codeine based syrup worth over N2billion.  The illicit dr#gs, which was imported in two 40ft containers from India, was intercepted at the Lagos port on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.  The illicit dr#gs were brought into the country in two containers marked HLBU 2239792 with 1,125 cartons of the dr#g and HLBU 1067338 with 1,751 cartons, with a market value of N2, 012, 500, 000.  NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Thursday, February 10, said the consignments were seized at the Port Express Bonded Terminal, Berger-Apapa after they were discovered concealed behind cartons of hypergra 200mg and deluxe chilly cutters, after which the Agency’s sniffer dogs were brought in to identify the illegal substance.

A Nigerian Lady Has graduated as best student in her department. A lady identified as Chris okafor posted on her page how she became the best graduating student in her department.  She said" Yesterday I emerged as the best graduating student of the faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan with first class honors, CGPA of 6.9 out of 7.0 and distinctions in 5 out of the six department in the faculty. I also received numerous other awards and recognition including awards for the best student in dispensing, Best graduating student in pharmaceutics and in industrial Chemistry  Indeed I have seen the power of yield much more for me than my human effort could ever have."

OAU Undergraduate Dies After falling into Soak Away in her hostel.

 OAU UNDERGRADUATE DIES HOURS AFTER FALLING INTO SOAK AWAY IN HER HOSTEL Heritage Ajibola, a 100-level student of the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, has died after she accidentally fell into a soakaway in her hostel of residence. Eyewitnesses, who were at the scene of the incident, revealed that she was with her friends spreading clothes on a line when she mistakenly fell into a hole leading into the soakaway and got stuck in it. They stated that before her friends could rush to call for help, she had already fallen deep into the soakaway. According to the eyewitnesses, “It took almost an hour before help came and even with the presence maintenance team and the Osun State Fire Service, it took up to half an hour before they could get her out of the soakaway.” They also disclosed that it was later discovered that the cause of the collapse was that termites had eaten the wood which was used to cover the soakaway.
