Hushpuppi commits $400k fraud from inside US prison Popular Instagram celebrity Hushpuppi has received fresh charges as US prosecutors submit court documents showing how he committed fraud and laundered over $400k from behind bars. US prosecutors presented documents before the United States District Court of California on Wed 16th March 2022 with fresh evidence indicting HushPuppi of committing fraud and money laundering in U.S Federal correctional facility. The court documents stated that Hushpuppi, while in U.S Federal correctional facility, participated in the purchase and laundering of Economic Impact Payment debit cards fraudulently obtained from stolen data of U.S citizens and residents. Economic Impact Payments are financial support offered by the US government to U.S residents according to the CARES Act. We’ve removed electricity subsidy, we are working on others — FG  The Federal Government has quietly removed subsidy on electricity tariff, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, has said. The minister said this while speaking at a visual meeting on Friday, March 11, 2022.  According to her, “We are cleaning up our subsidies. We had a setback, we were to remove fuel subsidy by July this year but there was a lot of pushback from the polity. We have elections coming and because of the hardship that companies and citizens went through during the COVID-19 pandemic, we just felt that the time was not right, so we pulled back on that. But we have been able to quietly implement subsidy removal in the electricity sector and as we speak, we don’t have subsidies in the electricity sector. Nigeria’s security situation is improving — SGF Boss Mustapha

  The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, has said the security situation in Nigeria has improved.  Speaking at an event In Kaduna on Thursday, March 10, Mustapha said insurgency in the north-east and thr#ats of separatists in the south-east have reduced “considerably”, and that over 30,000 insurgents alongside their families have so far surrendered. According to him, “The security situation has relatively improved across all parts of the country. The thr#ats of the separatists in the south-east and parts of south-south geo-political zones have reduced in traction. Our waters are now calm and we no longer receive reports of daily attacks by pirates. Troops of operation Sharan Daji, in conjunction with personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and other intelligence/security and paramilitary agencies, have sustained an onslaught against the criminal elements.”

2023 General Election: Igbo President will bring peace to Nigeria -Obasanjo.

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has declared support for an Igbo Presidency in 2023. Obasanjo, while receiving a 2023 Presidential aspirant, Mao Ohuabunwa on Thursday in Abeokuta said it was time for reconciliation in Nigeria by supporting a president from the Southeast region to emerge in 2023. The former president stated that southeasterners can bring a lot to the table if elected. “Beyond bringing unity to Nigeria or being the cement that holds Nigeria together, I believe that Southeasterners can model hard work and entrepreneurship. “This will help in wealth creation and fight against poverty, which is ravaging Nigeria,” Obasanjo said. He warned Ohuabunwa that running for Presidency is a tough job.
